Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily even in tight spaces.
If you want a smooth ride on your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that can swivel. They are, however, susceptible to punctures. Be prepared with an repair kit.
Sturdy frame
New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies, the emblem of the noughties, which had more money than common sense, are in rapid decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more flexible and simple to drive, while also looking stylish.
The rule is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with rough ground and bumpy pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back makes it much easier to manoeuvre and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on a newborn baby and a toddler and found it very robust. It handled grass, cobbles and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it feels sturdy to push and extremely solid when you're on rough terrain. The tyres, that are inflated and require to be pumped up occasionally and have a suspension built-in. This was very comfortable for my children.
The size and shape of the seat is another thing to consider. It is important for the seat to be large enough for your child to be comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat, which lets your child face you, while other buggies only allow a parent-facing one.
The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or wet walks. The buggy can be used as a single from the beginning and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers until age 4 and comes with a bumper bar, raincover, a better 5-point harness and a spacious cushioned seat unit. The storage options are great too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets in the hood and an attractive pouch at the back of the seat unit.
Wheels with larger diameter
Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability when driving on rough terrain. This is perfect for off-road buggies. They also help you navigate the pushchair through tight spaces. Certain three-wheeled buggies have swivel wheels on the front to help you navigate tight corners. Others are designed for running and have fixed wheels that lock for increased speed and stability. This is also helpful if you bump into the roots of a tree or stray road, as the front wheel will rise up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.
3 wheeled pushchair of 3 wheel pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle a variety of terrains and are much more adaptable than 4-wheelers. They're also lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, so you'll need to have a repair kit and spare inner tubes on hand.
Our top 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both of these buggies come with larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on grass, gravel tracks and market town cobbles" and can easily go up and down kerbs. They also have suspensions that Kath says "smooths out bumps with great efficiency".
Buggies with bigger wheels can be quite wide, and may struggle to fit into tight spaces. This can be a problem if you use it as a jogger or you need to get through doorways that are narrow while on the move. Most models come with compact folding options, which allow you to remove the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.
Easy to manoeuvre
A three-wheel buggy can be easier to maneuver with a child. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels turn on a dime, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for terrains that are difficult, such as parks, cobblestones as well as bumpy roads and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tested a 3 wheeler with her newborn and toddler and wrote: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the terrain and the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also amazed by how well it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. I found it to be extremely stable when going downhill or on uneven ground."
The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you need to be aware of when your home is one of the cities. If this is a concern then a 4-wheel buggy may be a better option for you.

Kath the MFM reviewer, also adored the roominess of the buggy. There's a large easy-to-access basket that's huge for a buggy this small and there's an excellent zip-up pouch on the back of the seat unit and two smaller mesh pockets in the hood for your keys and phone.
